Glucosamine is a naturally occurring amino sugar, synthesized in the body and found in some foods. Standard dosing based on body weight:
- Under 54 kg: 1000 mg Glucosamine Sulfate & 800 mg Chondroitin Sulfate per day

No major interactions have been reported between Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and medications such as antibiotics, antidepressants, antihypertensives, nitrates, antiarrhythmics, anxiolytics, hypoglycemic agents, antisecretives, and antiasthmatics. However, Chondroitin may enhance the blood-thinning effects of anticoagulants like Warfarin and Heparin.
